A. Lange & Söhne doesn’t tend to chase attention - but when it makes a move, it’s worth a closer look. The latest evolution of its ZEITWERK DATE arrives in 750 pink gold, paired with a matte grey dial.
It’s a quiet shift in tone for a timepiece that, since its 2009 debut, has challenged traditional watch design with a striking mechanical digital display.

This new version keeps the integrity of the original - bold, linear hour and minute apertures flanked by a small seconds dial - while introducing a subtle warmth that tempers its technical intensity.
The ring-shaped date, a circular band of printed glass framing the dial, remains a visual standout. A red marker slowly sweeps around the ring, completing its revolution every 31 days. It’s both clever and oddly calming.
Behind the Dial: L043.8 and the Mechanics of Precision

At the heart of this pink gold ZEITWERK DATE is the Lange manufacture calibre L043.8, a manually wound movement comprising 516 components.
A constant-force escapement, tucked neatly between the twin mainspring barrels and the balance wheel, regulates the flow of power - ensuring that the numerals jump forward with absolute consistency, precisely 1,440 times a day.
Corrections, when needed, are equally considered. Pushers at 4 o’clock and 8 o’clock allow for precise adjustment of the hour and date, respectively.
Each pusher decouples its mechanism from the movement with a reassuring click - no fuss, no friction, no disruption to the watch’s rhythm.
German Craft Meets Understated Drama

Sized at 44.2 mm with a 12.3 mm profile, the watch is substantial but far from loud. The German silver time bridge - a signature element of the ZEITWERK family - frames the dial, linking the mechanical to the sculptural.
Through the sapphire crystal caseback, one can admire solarised ratchet wheels, gold chatons, and the engraved balance cock - hallmarks of Lange’s meticulous finishing.
A Contemporary Take on Saxon Watchmaking

The new ZEITWERK DATE in pink gold is not a watch for the distracted.
It’s a piece that rewards attention - not with flash, but with intricacy, order, and just the right amount of drama.
