If the term knitwear conjures up nothing but thoughts of grannycore, cottage living and woolly mittens, then AGR is about to blow your mind. For the emerging London brand, knitwear is at the core of their identity. Their rising empire is making waves in the fashion industry, pushing people’s expectations of what knitwear can be in many new, unexpected and interesting directions.
With huge music, art, fashion and nightlife names being regularly spotted in AGR pieces, it is easy to forget that the brand is only just celebrating its fourth birthday. Jorja Smith, Anderson Paak, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and even Rhianna have all become big fans of the brand, helping to spread the word about their trope-defying knits. So where did it all begin?
